The Elizabeth Layton Center is seeking a mature, reliable, and upbeat individual for a full-time Client Account Specialist . This is a Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5pm position. The Client Account Specialist is responsible for collecting and maintaining accurate financial information on ELC clients, including, but not limited to configuring patient fees based upon household income, working with clients on fee arrangements and requests for fee reductions, sending monthly statements to clients, and providing assistance to the Intake Coordinator.

Major Job Responsibilities:
Review client schedule daily and make notes regarding payment for front desk
Collect and enter financial information on clients in order to accurately calculate client fees
Send statements to clients on a monthly basis
Verify client eligibility for Medicaid with KMAP
Work with clients who request fee reductions or payment schedules
Send past due letters and communicate with front desk on how to handle clients with large balances
Primary contact for outside collection agency & Kansas Set Off Program
Provide assistance to Intake Coordinator for daily overflow
Provide evening reception coverage – One (1) evening per week
Provide backup for Department Assistant

Education and/or Experience:
High School Degree required, some college preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office and 10-Key
Minimum of 2 years customer service experience
Some collections experience preferred

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Ability to use good judgment in interpreting and adapting guidelines
Ability to establish & portray a positive image within departments and within the community
Good knowledge of business English; ability to use proper vocabulary, spell and use punctuation correctly in all documentation.
Ability to maintain client confidentiality
Ability to work with limited supervision
Ability to maintain complex file systems
Ability to communicate with all levels of management
